Shavertown is an unincorporated community in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, located approximately 7 miles northwest of the city of Wilkes-Barre. It was originally called Hunlock’s Creek after the nearby stream, but the name was later changed to Shavertown in honor of Philip Shaver, an early settler.
